The Importance of leaving a Trace of Yourself Through Portraits

Recently, I had the privilege of photographing Cleo who is terminally ill. She wanted to leave behind beautiful portraits for her husband, children, and grandchildren—a way for them to remember her as her vibrant, smiling self, not defined by her illness.
The photo shoot became more than just about the pictures. We laughed, shared stories, and created a joyful, lighthearted moment that became a beautiful memory in itself.
This experience was a powerful reminder: having your portrait taken isn’t just about capturing how you look. It’s about preserving who you are—your spirit, your smile, your presence—for the people who love you now and those who will remember you in the future.
A portrait is a timeless gift, one that leaves a trace of love and connection for generations.
When was the last time you stepped in front of the camera, not for work or documentation, but simply to celebrate you?
